An indoor pool deck was recently resurfaced for a hotel by Nebraska Concrete Coatings. Decorative concrete techniques were used to upgrade the appearance of the pool and spa area so that the hotel would rate highly on guest surveys. Here is a summary of the project:
- Project was completed in only five days.
- A 7-inch diamond grinder with vacuum was used to grind down the original surface.
- Cracks and flaws were repaired using a two-component urethane material called CR Fast from Concrete Coatings Inc.
- An acrylic overlay was applied.
- A faux brick trim border helped define the edge of the pool and spa.
- Three colors were used to create a tile pattern.
- For the especially detailed areas of color, a small hopper gun was used.
- To color the large expanse, NCC used an air compressor and pump system.
- The entire pool deck was sealed with three coats of CCI SuperSeal 2000 to provide high durability and reduced maintenance.
