Using Colored Concrete to Break up Large Areas
On projects where there are large areas of concrete, different sections of the concrete can be scored or stamped to visually break up the areas.
Concrete can be scored by tooling joints or sawcutting patterns. There are endless amounts of stamping patterns available.
Templates can be laid over previously poured concrete and designs sandblasted into the concrete. By creating a different texture in the uncovered areas, the design will appear to have two colors.
Large areas of concrete can also be broken up by insetting granite, tile, or marble that matches some of the building elements into the concrete.
Lastly, multiple colors side-by-side can be used to create striking effects.
Using any of the above techniques, or a combination of the above, will contribute to interesting paving areas that contribute to the landscape environment while breaking up large areas of paving.
