Marshalltown (www.marshalltown.com): Shane Ober, owner of Solid Rock Concrete in Gravette, AR, uses Marshalltown hand tools and trowels. "I like how they put their tools together," he says. "They're durable, strong, and good quality."
 Pavan S.p.A. |
Pavan Trowel (www.pavanspa.it): Kim Longo, Faux Villa Decorative Finishes Studio, says, "Trowels get to be like old friends. Once you get used to the feel of a trowel, it becomes part of what you can't go without. The particular Japanese trowel I used on the carpet project had a durable clear plastic blade which was ideal for the lighter colors of Skimstone so as not to create chatter marks. For small design areas, I use a Pavan trowel, an Italian-made stainless steel trowel formulated for Venetian and marble-based decorative finishes. It has rounded corners and polished radius edges."
Marshalltown makes an extensive line of concrete trowels. |
Marshalltown trowels (www.marshalltown.com): "For the tools we don't make ourselves," says Wayne Sellon, owner of Tajmawall, "we use Marshalltown trowels. They make a real quality trowel."
PNA (www.pna-inc.com): PNA's HydraCure single-use curing blankets augment PNA's multiuse HydraCure blankets. The single-use blankets are very effective with decorative concrete, since it's easy to see if there are dry spots, which can lead to blotches. Tim Blankenship of CSolutions, Atlanta, GA, said, "we really like these blankets."
Olympic Panel (www.olypanel.com): To get the surface finishes Michael Karmody, Stone Soup Concrete, Florence, MA, is looking for they use HDO plywood as forms. "We use a lot of HDO form panels by Olympic, which used to be Simpson."
