Outdoor living areas are becoming the ultimate place to entertain. The only problem is finding a convenient and enjoyable way to serve food to guests. No one wants to be alone in the kitchen while their guests are outside enjoying themselves. Century 22 Creations of Menifee, CA helped solve this problem for Gregg & Shannon Scott of Temecula with a fully loaded outdoor kitchen.

The project included stamped and stained vertical concrete, cast-in-place concrete countertops and more. Manny Limon, the man responsible for this outrageous kitchen, says that this project is unique because "it is a fully enclosed outdoor kitchen" complete with "two barbeques, two trash cans, electrical for lights, garbage disposal, hot and cold water, ice maker, drawers, and a burner."

In a way, Manny's work on this project started ten years ago, when he first went to work for the homeowners. Recently, the Scotts purchased a spec house and began doing custom upgrades. For the last year and a half Century 22 Creations has been busy doing all sorts of work on both the interior and exterior of the home. However, Manny is most excited about this outdoor kitchen that was completed just in time for the Fourth of July.

The kitchen was quite an upgrade, replacing a normal barbeque with a permanent, enclosed, decorative entertaining area. Century 22 Creations built both the barbeque, and patio cover, using concrete as the main material. The patio cover was made using steel posts that were then covered with Stonecrete prefab columns.

The barbeque itself was made using Decosup Rock Wall on the vertical surfaces. To achieve the look of natural stone, the concrete was then stamped with a rock slate texture and the crew carved in the random squares. Manny did not run into many challenges placing the vertical concrete, recalling that following the correct "process of the rock wall material was key to keeping it in place." He also stated that he worked closely with Wayne and Morgan Sellon of Tajmawall, getting tips and product recommendations, for the vertical concrete portion of the project.

The concrete was also stained to look more like stone. On the barbeque walls, Manny used a combination of acid and water based stains. He chose Brickform and Proline acid stains along with Elitecrete water-based stains, in colors such as sandalwood, grey and black.

The kitchen has two 10' by 6' L-shaped sections that are reversed to make an enclosed square. Each section is covered with a concrete countertop made with Buddy Rhodes cast in place countertop mix. The section closest to the house holds a full sized sink, and the opposite section contains the two barbeques. All of the barbeque equipment came from International Outdoor Funishings. Manny also created a raised bar top where people can sit and enjoy the state of the art kitchen and great food.

This is truly the complete outdoor kitchen, nothing was overlooked, it even includes an ice-maker, under counter lighting, and surround sound. The homeowners will be sure to enjoy their new setup for years to come.
