Scored and Stained Polymer Overlay Gives Fresh Look To ConAgra Foods Headquarters

Todd Rose of Stephen and Smith Company, Inc. in Nebraska shared these photos of polymer overlay project completed at the world headquarters of ConAgra Foods.

"They wanted a stained floor for their new company store," says Rose. "The quarry tile on the outside of this floor had an elevation of ¾ inch, so our overlay had to match this elevation." The solution was a polymer overlay. "We scored the design and stained the overlay," he explains.

A polymer overlay was also ideal because of the wheeled carts used to bring food in to be shelved. "They needed the floor level and relatively smooth," says Rose. "We then sealed with a water-based polyurethane sealer, along with two coats of a maintenance wax."
