TUFF-N-DRI is a single solution that helps control the three main sources of moisture from new basement walls: leakage, seepage and interior condensation. Spray application provides a consistent and seamless membrane with a dry thickness of at least 40 mils - four times thicker than standard dampproofing.
This seamless layer spans foundation-settling cracks to seal out moisture penetration, including water under hydrostatic pressure. The polymer-enhanced membrane also remains flexible as ambient temperatures drop, providing ongoing protection season after season.
The second component of the TUFF-N-DRI system is WARM-N-DRI foundation board. The addition of WARM-N-DRI to the waterproofing membrane eliminates the need for an interior moisture barrier. The WARM-N-DRI board also insulates basement walls, so the indoor-outdoor temperature differential on the basement's interior wall becomes significantly less pronounced - greatly reducing the conditions that promote interior condensation.
In addition to the insulating properties of WARM-N-DRI, its design helps channel moisture to the home's exterior drainage system. WARM-N-DRI has a more than 30-year track record of below-ground drainage performance.
To assist with moisture drainage, Select Waterproofing Contractors can install DrainStar Stripdrain product in combination with the full-system TUFF-N-DRI. DrainStar has a rigid polymer core of engineered cones that collect and move water to designated drainage exits. The core is covered by a non-woven geotextile filter fabric to strain out backfill soils nd other particles.
