Many of the concrete pours were completed at night to avoid exposure to the sun and intense daytime heat. The freshly poured concrete slabs were hydrated as many as 15 to 20 times to ensure proper curing.

Ralston incorporated a customized scoring pattern into the concrete to help tie the lines in the concrete with the modern lines of the structure.
