Concrete Showrooms: Determining the Best Size for Your Company

Find Concrete Products and Supplies in Your Area

Showrooms come in all sizes and shapes. Jim Peterson, president of The Concrete Network, has seen both large and small scale showrooms serve as an effective marketing tool for concrete companies across the country. When considering what size showroom you want for your company, take into account the type of clients you are trying to attract and how much time and money you want to invest.

Large Showroom:

  • 3,000 sq ft, or more
  • Appeals to commercial or industrial clients: hotels, theme parks, restaurants, etc.
  • Should include a meeting room for clients, designers, contractors, and more
  • Shows that you are an established company that is capable of doing large scale projects
  • Provides a location to do live product demos
  • Requires a large investment of time and money

The perfect example of a large showroom is Colorado Hardscapes' beautiful design in Denver, CO. This 14,680 square-foot center includes office spaces, conference rooms, a plan room, a model-making studio and a sample-making bay. Decorative concrete is the focus of the lobby floor and countertop, a portion of the conference room, and in a huge open space that houses hundreds of samples. "Seeing it in tangible form makes a huge difference... this has an impact and is a tremendous sales tool," says Teresa Unruh, marketing coordinator. The center is also used for meetings with clients and designers, and for business presentations.

Small Showroom:

  • 10' x 15' or 150 sq ft
  • Appeals to residential clients
  • Gives your company credibility
  • Should include a table to meet with customers
  • Photos of past work in brochures, or on the walls, are a simple way to make a good impression
  • Can be done on a budget of $5,000
  • Can be used as an office, meeting room, and showroom
  • Can be ran by appointment only, cutting down on time commitment
  • Perfect for a new or existing business wanting to make a good impression
  • Example: L.L. Geans Construction Co.
