Concrete Enhancer Rejuvenates Previously Sealed Concrete

Providing excellent protection from motor oil and fuel stains, BELLATRIX was used to enhance the
concrete floors in the JKS Motorsports complex and give them a high-gloss finish.

Unlike many concrete sealers and protective coatings, BELLATRIX can be applied to
previously sealed and colored concrete without the need to remove the existing sealer.

Often if you want to reseal or protect previously sealed concrete surfaces, you need to go through the painstaking task of stripping off the existing sealer. No longer. MEADOWS eliminates all that grunt work because it's specifically formulated for use on previously sealed surfaces as well as surfaces that have been stained or dyed.

"BELLATRIX is a dual-action product, meaning it provides both penetrating and film-forming concrete protection," says Mark Vogel director of international sales for W. R. MEADOWS. "One of the big benefits is that it can be used on any concrete surface previously treated with a liquid densifier or acrylic sealer. It penetrates to form a superior bond to the concrete and is topical to prevent chemicals from staining the concrete and to add extra abrasion resistance."

In addition to its protective function, BELLATRIX also enhances and rejuvenates existing concrete by giving it a clear, high-gloss finish. "BELLATRIX is often used on colored floors to help enhance the color and give it longevity. You get a very high gloss that can be increased by burnishing to get the desired gloss level. BELLATRIX can also be rejuvenated by burnishing, even years later," says Vogel.

BELLATRIX can be applied to most existing concrete surfaces, both indoors and out, including previously densified polished concrete. It's especially effective in commercial environments because it resists many common stain-causing contaminants found in kitchens, retail food stores, restaurants, malls, garages, warehouses, and distribution centers. Recently, the product was used to protect and enhance the concrete floors in the JKS Motorsports complex in Welcome, North Carolina.

Outdoors, BELLATRIX offers UV-stable protection and forms a permeable barrier that allows moisture in the concrete to evaporate. BELLATRIX is also environmentally friendly and VOC-compliant. While the product can be applied to most existing surfaces, it should not be used as a curing compound on freshly placed concrete.

BELLATRIX applies easily with an industrial sprayer and requires no mixing or dilution. After initially spraying the product onto the surface, you can spread it with a microfiber pad to achieve uniform coverage. The average coverage rate is 500 to 600 square feet on steel-troweled concrete and 1,000 to 1,500 square feet on polished concrete, depending on the texture, porosity and condition of the existing surface. Two coats are recommended to achieve optimal protection. BELLATRIX dries in 1 to 2 hours and can accept foot traffic after 4 to 6 hours and wheeled traffic after 6 to 12 hours.
