George W. Seegebrecht - Principal Engineer - Concrete Engineering Group, LLC.
George has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. He began his engineering career in quality control testing of construction materials in the laboratory and the field for all types of construction materials including concrete, steel, soils, and asphalt.
For the past 25 years, he has provided detailed troubleshooting of concrete and shotcrete field problems such as low strength, excessive cracking, air content irregularities, fire damage, spalling, scaling, honeycombing, delamination, debonding and other forms of distress or loss of durability. These materials issues were examined for various structures including pools and decks, commercial slab-on-ground, elevated decks, storage tanks, parking structures, chimneys and many other structures. He also provides consulting on construction issues such as concrete mixture design, appropriate testing, placing, finishing and curing.
He is a member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) on Committee 522-Pervious Concrete and an associate member of ACI Committee 506-Shotcrete. He is also a member of the American Shotcrete Association (ASA) and the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI). George is a licensed professional engineer in 11 states. He is a regular educational seminar speaker for the Portland Cement Association (PCA) and the University of Wisconsin. He also speaks for various meetings or local association or society chapters such as CRSI, CSDA, World of Concrete, and in-house education sessions for various clients.
