Tiki Bar and Stamped Patio Turn Small Backyard into an OasisUltimate Design of New York recently completed an outdoor living project that proved they are worthy of their name. The project includes a pool and tiki bar loaded with amenities.
Jerry, owner of Ultimate Design, was given free range to do what he wanted with the property. However, there were two limiting factors: cost and space. The client didn't want to break the bank and the property was only 40' x 30'. Despite these limitations, Jerry was able to create a great space for entertaining, and have fun while doing it. Stampcrete products were used for the patio. The concrete was stamped to look like natural stone and a brown release agent was used. Jerry wished he could have done more concrete work on this project, but the clients cost concerns kept him from doing so. The tiki bar has many great features. The kitchen area has a built-in bbq, a refrigerator, a sink, and an exhaust fan. Other amenities include cable tv and stereo surround sound, and a bathroom. Ultimate Design also put in an above-ground-pool next to the tiki bar and patio. "The pool is above ground because a sewer line runs through the yard, making it so an in-ground-pool wasn't an option," explains Jerry, "instead, we dug the above-ground-pool in so that it is only raised 12" above ground level."
Jerry had a lot of fun designing and implementing his ideas on this project and hopes he will get to do more things like this in the future. Ultimate Design started off just doing lawn maintenance and has grown into pavers, stampcrete, colorcrete, and outdoor kitchens.
