Hi ,

An interest in concrete countertops often reveals an innate appreciation for materials that can instantly add character to a room.  With concrete countertops completely customizable nature, you'll find they can easily become the focal point of your room, or the classic piece that expresses your personality. Here are eight ways concrete countertops can punch up the personality in your kitchen or bath.
8 Ways to Express Yourself with a Concrete Countertop

Stone Passion, Salt Lake City, UT1)      Express yourself with color. Concrete countertops can be custom-colored in nearly any hue. You can create warmth with a brown or natural-colored counter, or create a conversation piece with a wild design or mix of vibrant shades.

2)      Express yourself with edge detail. Part of concrete's uniqueness is the variety of edge forms that are available. Choose one that will complement the style of your room. Some ideas include rough, rock-like edges, or thick, old-world style edges. You can even create your own edge by creating a custom mold.

3)      Express yourself with embeds. Almost any item can be embedded into your countertop. Choose personal mementos, coins, glass, sea shells, iron or metal pieces to inlay into the wet concrete during the building process.

4)      Express yourself with drainboards. Add style and function to your countertop with an integral drainboard. A drainboard is a unique way to add a little flair to your countertop, and to provide a useful area for setting fruits or vegetables after washing.

5)      Express yourself with trivets. At the time your countertop is built, raised metal rods can be inserted into the wet concrete. Stainless steel rods are best because they can withstand the heat from pots and pans.

6)      Express yourself with backsplashes. Concrete's moldability makes it a perfect medium for creating backsplashes in organic shapes and various sizes.

7)      Express yourself with various sizes. Concrete is the perfect material for creating countertops in various sizes and dimensions. Curves, sharp edges, angled designs, long spans, and more can be created with concrete. No two countertops are alike which is part of their attraction for homeowners who want a completely one-of-a-kind custom counter.

8)      Express yourself with sinks.  Custom countertops can also be designed with concrete sinks. Trough sinks and ramp sinks show off the versatility of concrete. Nearly any shape or design you can imagine can be formed with concrete.
