Greetings!
A concrete floor is not only practical, it can
also make a bold design statement when personalized with logos and other unique
graphics. Examples include corporate logos, a motto or mission statement, a symbol,
or some other meaningful saying or motif. Few flooring surfaces can be customized in this
manner, and only concrete offers so many options for doing so -- from custom-cut
stencils, to etching or engraving, to high-tech graphics created with digital
imaging. See these examples of the creative possibilities and the techniques
behind them. For more great ideas, visit our Floor Logos Photo Gallery.

Lighthouse Brightens an Entryway

Clad in Blue Jeans Shoppers do a double-take when they walk on this amazing blue-jean themed concrete floor in the Mr. B's Jean Store, Kalamazoo, Mich. It started out with photographs of blue jeans strewn randomly on the
floor. The digital imaging wizards at Agio Imaging then reproduced the images on 8x10-inch sheets of vinyl, which were lapped
together and epoxied in place. The digital imagery process, called FloorPix, uses solvent-based permanent inks to create almost any type of graphic imaginable.
|
3-D Imagery Impressed by the dimensional realism of chalk art he spotted on city streets and sidewalks, Bob Harris of the Decorative Concrete Institute developed a similar approach for creating permanent three-dimensional images on concrete floors. Bob now conducts illusional concrete art workshops showing how to give artwork an accurate 3-D perspective even when viewed
from different angles.

Logos on Vinyl
When Glen Roman of Staintec, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.,
was asked to put the logo of the First Financial Credit Union on their new
entryway floor, he intended to use sandblasting. However, nearby businesses objected
to the potential dust. That's when he decided to use a digital image printed on
self-adhering vinyl. "It was very simple -- it just took a phone call to
Adage Graphics," says Glen. Learn more about the process.
