Complain or Create
Weve all been here before: You are on a well thought-out
vacation; you know what you want to do each and every moment you
are away, but Mother Nature has other plans. It rains. You get
sick. Your plane is delayed due to snow. Your plan is completely
derailed. In this situation what do you do?
Most of us default to being grumpy; we feel as though the universe
is conspiring against us. Yet what if instead of complaining about
the circumstance we find ourselves in, we create a new plan, one
that serves us just a well, or perhaps even better than as the
original?
When you are on vacation
in Disney World and your child gets sick, take the opportunity to
spend quality time reading and really being with your child. These
moments are a 100 times more valuable than a ride on Dumbo! When
your tropical vacation is rained out and lying on the beach is not
in the cards, take a look at what other opportunities are
available. What might you have missed seeing or doing if all you
actually did was lay on the beach for a week? When your company
looses its largest client, create a plan for creating a new, even
larger client! If we choose to sit back and complain for long
about the state we find our lives in, well miss the golden
opportunities that await us.
Remember: You are the only person who has a say in how your life
turns out. So when life happens, and we all know it does, you can
complain about the life you have or create a life you love. Which
do you choose?
