Success Doesn't Have To Be Hard

Most of us desire success, and often, we couple that desire with the idea that success is something we have to work REALLY HARDfor! So if you are in the success is hard camp, can you give up that belief? Are you willing to take on the reality that success can actually be achieved quickly, with fun and fulfillment, without first enduring years of frustrating failures? Great! Lets get going!

For many of us, success means living a full and complete life. We all measure the details of that completeness in different wayslike the size of your bank account, the size of your company, the size of your family, your waistline, or the size of the difference you make with others. Whatever measure you use, take a look at the following tips that can get you, and keep you, on your success track:

  • Attitude is more important than facts.Life is full of circumstancesmany of them are downright distasteful or, at best, challenging! Success is all about who you are being in the face of your circumstances.
  • Have a purpose. You will accomplish very little in your family or business life unless you have a purposea reason to keep going despite anything that might get in your way. For each of your goals, before you ever startmake a point to write down where you're going, by when you will arrive, and how you're going to get there.
  • Be committed. Being committed to what you want will drive and carry you to your goals 10 times faster than you ever expected or planned for. Getting present to your commitment will get you past being stopped and will inspire your team! Check it out. If you arent committed to what you are doing, why are you doing it at all?
  • Create a team. If you could get where you want to go by yourself, youd be there already! Not there yet? Create a team! Choose a team of positive, creative, and capable people who can generate plans for achieving your goals and hold you accountable.
  • Give up knowing so you can learn from every situation. Successful people are always open to new ideas and approaches. They learn from every situation and pass on their knowledge to others.
  • Be unstoppable. What if you gave 110%, all the time? Sound impossible? Just try it for one day and see the results! And, don't forget . . . it's not against the law to ask for help. Remember, if there is something you want and you dont have it . . . ASK FOR IT!
  • Ask for, and accept, feedback. Ask team members to review your plan. Hear their comments as a contribution and an opportunity to learn. Your team may be able to see what you cannot see.

  • Find role models. Identify yourself with people who are successful in ways that mean something to you. Invite them to lunch, ask how they accomplished their goals, and then LISTEN!
  • Believe in yourself. Only YOU have a say in how your life turns out!
