Overlayment Procedures

Troweled Down Application

After surface preparation has been completed, base coat is troweled or squeegeed down to the width of the stencil. Stencil is then adhered to the tacky base coat. This process is repeated until the entire stencil is laid. Topcoat is then troweled on over the stencil thinly (approximately 1/8 of an inch).

Release agent may be applied and surface textured (release agent cannot get on the base coat!) When putting on release you must keep up with the person troweling on the topcoat in order to be able to texture the material, because it will set quickly.

From this point further, the steps are the same as a poured application except for sealing. Seal to overlay manufacturer's specifications.
