Custom Acid Stain Templates

Custom templates come in both paper or vinyl. Prices vary depending on design and size. Contact Modello Designs for a quote on custom stencils.

Modello Designs

Vinyl is one-time use only. Paper sometimes can be used more than once depending on pattern detail, type of sandblasting material and air pressure used when sandblasting.

Modello Designs

Templates can be used in two different ways:

After the floor is stained and sealed, the templates are then applied and sandblasted. Once the template has been sandblasted and removed, the area is left natural or stained. If stained, the floor is cleaned again.
After the floor is stained and before the floor is sealed, vinyl (only) templates are applied and a gel acid is used to remove the stain. If custom area is to be stained, the vinyl stays in place and the stain is applied. (Hard toweled finished floors only can be restrained and some bleeding may occur under vinyl.)
