Pool Deck Revived with Stamped Concrete and Creative Landscaping Submitted by Concrete Oasis Co., in Malvern, PA
Stamped and Colored Concrete Pool DeckThe 1,700 square foot pool deck was stamped with the ashlar slate pattern from Brickform. "We used Brickform's shake-on color hardeners in gold sandstone and pico sand," says Bernardine. The deck was hand-detailed by painting in an additional color of medium gray release agent mixed with xylene and sealer. "We also put acid stain on the deck using Brickform's ebony and amber. We randomly applied it with both a paint brush and a sprayer." The deck was sealed with solvent-based Kingdom Cure from Concrete Texturing and Tool Supply. "We like Kingdom Cure because it sets up quickly and is durable," says Bernardine. "We also like its color-enhancing properties. It brings out the color without being too shiny." Bernardine prefers the solvent-based sealer rather than a water-based sealer because of the chlorine around the pool. The solvent-based sealer is more water-resistant and impenetrable.
